The Board of Pensions and Benefits
Who is the Board of Pensions and Benefits and what do they do?
The Board of Pensions and Benefits is a twelve-member board. The president of the Covenant, the vice-president for finance and assistant director of pensions, the executive minister of the ordered ministry, and a liaison from the Executive Board are ex-officio members of the Board of Pensions and Benefits. The vice-president for administration (who is director of pensions) and the director of finance are advisory members of the board.
The vice-president for administration/director of pensions acts as an agent representative between meetings of the board and reports to the board actions taken and representations made on behalf of the board.
The Board of Pensions and Benefits administers the pension program of the ministers and manages the group insurance plan for church workers through Bethany Benefit Services. Members may be asked to be on a committee relating to insurance, investment, rules, or audit matters. (Want to know more?
