Nancy Sawyer Doing Well Following Hospitalization

EAGLE RIVER, AK (June 22) - Nancy Sawyer is home and doing well after being briefly hospitalized in Grand Rapids, Michigan, last week, after she collapsed, says husband Rodney Sawyer, the field director of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska.

The couple was attending the Evangelical Covenant Church's 121st Annual Meeting when Nancy asked Rodney to escort her back to the couple's room because she was feeling ill. She then collapsed in the hallway.

When she arrived at the hospital, Nancy's blood pressure had dropped and her heart rate was elevated, Rodney says. After restoring both to normal, doctors put her through a battery of tests, all of which returned normal results.

"Nobody knows what caused it other than it might be something she ate," Rodney says. "It's surreal," he adds. "It's like it never happened."

Nancy has quipped, "It won't be surreal when we get the bill!"
