Sundholm Contributes Reflections to 'Hunger for the Word'

CHICAGO, IL (June 6) - Three reflections by Jim Sundholm, the director of Covenant World Relief and Paul Carlson Partnership are included in Hunger for the Word: Lectionary Reflections on Food and Justice (Year C), published by Bread for the World.

The volume provides weekly justice-oriented biblical reflections for the liturgical year, which begins on Advent. Sundholm's reflections focus on Ash Wednesday, and the first and second Sundays of Lent. Hunger for the Word includes reflections by representatives of many denominations.

Bread for the World describes Hunger for the Word this way: "With weekly sermon/homily reflections, Hunger for the Word is an invaluable resource for pastors, liturgical ministers and those interested in justice-oriented Bible study and spiritual growth. Also includes suggestions for musical worship, and ideas for children's sermons to help spread God's word of activism, compassion and integrity throughout the congregation."

The book may be purchased at www.breadstore.org.
