Deadlines Near for AVA Training Registration

BERLIN, CT (April 5) - The registration deadline is fast approaching for two training sessions for volunteer leaders as part of the Advocacy for Victims of Abuse (AVA) ministry.

Training will be offered May 18-21 for two categories of volunteer leaders - regional coordinators and local church advocates – at Bethany Covenant Church here. Application forms can be found online at AVA Application Form.

The application for the regional coordinator training is due April 21 and letters of reference are due May 5. Applications and letters should be emailed to Aleese Moore-Orbih at Osotse@aol.com.

Training will begin Friday evening, May 18, and end with a consecration service on Sunday morning. AVA will pay for travel and hotel accommodations.

The registration deadline for the local church advocate training is April 28. Eight hours of training will be presented Saturday, May 20. Participants will need to pay for their own travel. Applications should be emailed to Susan Falcetta at sfalcetta@trinitycovenantchcurch.org.

All questions regarding travel should be emailed to Falcetta. Questions regarding AVA or the training should be emailed to Moore-Orbih.

AVA, which operates as part of Women Ministries of the Evangelical Covenant Church, is designed to help churches better minister to victims of abuse, which some estimate to be one in every four women. To learn more about AVA, visit its website at AVA.
