Military Honors Work of Chaplain Ryan Sarenpa

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (October 6, 2005) - Evangelical Covenant Church Army Chaplain (Capt.) Ryan Sarenpa recently was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal. This award is given to soldiers who have distinguished themselves through outstanding meritorious service or achievement.

Capt. Ryan Sarenpa Sarenpa serves the Scranton Covenant Church in Kansas and was called up to active duty in 2004. He says he hopes to return home sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. He presently serves at Log Base Seitz in Baghdad.
