Paul Lessard to Assume New CBC Executive Role
STRATHMORE, AB (September 27, 2005) - Paul Lessard has been named executive vice president of Covenant Bible College (CBC), the first individual to hold the newly created position.Lessard previously served as executive director of the CBC-Colorado campus before accepting a position as pastor of Hope Community Covenant Church in Strathmore, Alberta.
In his new role, Lessard will provide guidance and oversight of the three CBC campuses, including programs, personnel and finances. This position will work closely with campus executive directors and boards in shaping and evaluating local programs, will oversee the recruitment and development of faculty, and will be accountable for financial oversight of CBC operations.
"I am encouraged and excited by the addition of Paul to our leadership team at CBC," says President Neil Josephson. "His wisdom, creativity and passion for CBC will add great strength to our mission, to the Covenant and to the Church of Jesus Christ."
With the creation of the new position, the president will be able to focus more fully on expanding development and admissions efforts, Josephson notes. It also allows for the restructuring of other positions to strengthen the overall leadership team.
"These are crucial and important days in the story of the college," Lessard says of his appointment. "I feel privileged to be a part of writing the next chapter and I look forward to partnering with the faculty and staff of CBC to further the mission of the college."
Lessard will assume his new position November 1.
