Memorial Service Held for Marjorie Edythe Benson
CROMWELL, CT (August 22, 2005) - A memorial service for Marjorie Edythe Benson was conducted last Thursday in Pilgrim Manor Chapel at the Covenant Village of Cromwell. She was the wife of Covenant pastor LeRoy Benson.Benson, who was age 81 at the time of her death, died August 15 at Pilgrim Manor Care Center. Chaplains Glen Halvorsen and Susan Knight officiated with other clergy also participating. A committal service was scheduled to take place at the Alcorn gravesite in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, Massachusetts.
Benson had been a member of Evangelical Covenant churches in Massachusetts and Florida. She worked in the marketing department at Covenant Village of Florida and in 1992 the couple moved to Cromwell, where LeRoy served as the campus administrator.
She is survived by her husband, three sons and one daughter, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
