Johnson Named Chief Operating Officer for CRC
CHICAGO, IL (July 12, 2005) - Covenant Retirement Communities, Inc. (CRC) announced today that Timothy A. Johnson has been appointed the corporation's chief operating officer.Johnson will coordinate overall operations for CRC and its 14 retirement communities nationwide. He will provide long-term direction for the growth and management of the organization. Johnson will report to CRC President Rick K. Fisk.
Johnson has more than 25 years of management experience in the senior housing industry. For the past 16 years, he worked at Presbyterian Homes in Evanston, Illinois, in various capacities, most recently as president. Prior to that he spent 14 years at CRC, where he served as an associate administrator and campus administrator. He is a 1975 graduate of North Park University (then college).
Johnson serves on the advisory committee of North Park's Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management and the advisory committee for the school's Center for Scandinavian Studies; the board of directors of Meals on Wheels in Chicago; and on the national health guidelines review committee of the American Institute of Architects.
A licensed nursing home administrator in the state of Illinois, Johnson is president of the Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, a nationwide association of more than 350 Presbyterian-related senior service organizations. He has worked on several committees for the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and served as president of Life Services Network of Illinois, a statewide trade association of senior services providers.
Johnson earned a master's degree in studies in aging from the University of North Texas in Denton. He lives in Deerfield, Illinois.
CRC is a not-for-profit corporation based in Chicago that serves more than 5,000 seniors at 14 retirement communities nationwide. It is associated with the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
