Covenanters Safe from Hurricane Dennis

OVIEDO, FL (July 11, 2005) - Churches in the Southeast Conference escaped damage from Hurricane Dennis, says Robert Owens, the conference's associate superintendent.

Hurricane Dennis struck the Florida panhandle and Alabama coast on Sunday with less force than forecasters had predicted, sparing the region from the destruction that last year's hurricanes caused.

Last year, Hurricane's Charley and Frances damaged Florida churches as well as Covenanters homes. Hurricane Ivan damaged three Covenant churches in Alabama - Silverhill Covenant in Silverhill; New Covenant Church in Foley; and Greenwood Covenant Church in Summerdale.
