CHICAGO, IL (May 24, 2005) - North Park University senior Kevin Carroll was named to the first team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) by conference coaches after finishing fourth in batting during CCIW play.

Carroll, who attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago, hit .421 in conference with 11 runs batted in and nine stolen bases. For the season, Carroll batted .389 (fifth among CCIW hitters) and had an on-base percentage of .473. He had 56 hits in 144 at-bats with 12 doubles, 18 runs batted in and 21 walks.

It was the second consecutive solid year for Carroll offensively as the lefty hitter produced 43 hits in 129 at-bats for a .333 average during the 2004 season. As in 2005, Carroll also stole 14 bases for the Vikings.

With this season's efforts, Carroll finished his North Park career among the school's career leaders in hits and stolen bases. His 56 hits this spring is also among the top dozen yearly totals in school history.
