Baudette Church Celebrates Building Project
BAUDETTE, MN (April 22, 2005) - Members of the Evangelical Covenant Church last week celebrated the near completion of their building project with open house, followed by a Bluegrass Gospel band concert.
The church relocated just east of town, and construction on the new building began last June. Volunteers from the Mobile Missionary Assistance Project helped put up the dry wall. Church members contributed numerous hours of labor, as well.
The new building was dedicated in December, with Jim Fretheim, superintendent of the Northwest Conference, presiding. The installation of a new assistive listening system just prior to Easter prompted long-time member Merle Johnson (see picture) to rejoice that he was able to hear the gospel proclaimed clearly for the first time in nearly two years.
