Cascade Church Launches "Expanding to Serve" Campaign

NORTH BEND, WA (April 15, 2005) - Cascade Covenant Church recently began construction of a 5,400-square-foot addition that will include five classrooms, two offices, a youth ministry center and more parking. The addition is part of the church's "Expanding to Serve" campaign, an effort to raise funds for the building project and to pay for additional staff. Ten percent of the campaign, or a goal of $37,500, will be designated as a missions gift to help plant a new church in the North Pacific Conference. Cascade Church

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the addition began on April 3. The new construction is the latest in building and church-planting activities for Cascade Covenant. In March of 2002, the church moved into a new 13,000-square-foot facility after 12 years of renting temporary worship, ministry and office space. The building is scheduled to be completed within the next year, says Pastor John Jenks. The church was planted in 1989 by Newport Covenant Church in Bellevue, Washington, and averages about 350 in attendance. Part of the expansion is being assisted with a loan from National Covenant Properties.
