EuroRetreat Offers Time to Share, Reflect
SALOU, SPAIN (March 24, 2005) - More than 30 adults and children participated in this week's EuroRetreat for Evangelical Covenant Church missionaries and their families who are serving in various areas throughout Europe.
The group also included a counselor and three guests from California and
Prague in the Czech Republic who worked with the missionary children.
The four-day annual event provides quiet time for missionaries and their families and offers mutual encouragement, fellowship, discussions on mission directions and opportunities to strengthen connections to more effectively serve as a missions team, according to Richard and Jan Epps-Dawson, regional coordinators for Europe/Russia for the Department of World Mission.
"There is time for Bible and prayer workshops, mission strategy and other discussions, as well as family times including the 'Resurrection Journey' event led by the children," Jan Epps-Dawson noted. Workshops included topics such as mission boundaries, self-care and understanding Third Culture Kids.
