PSWC Celebration, Leadership Conference Scheduled

GRANITE BAY, CA (February 23, 2005) - The Pacific Southwest Conference annual meeting - PSWC Celebration 2005 - will be held in conjunction with a leadership conference at Bayside Covenant Church in Granite Bay this year.

Celebration 2005 will take place April 29-30, with the Thriving Churches Conference slated for April 28-30. In addition to the business meetings, Celebration 2005 will include ministry stories from around the conference and the consecration of new church planters. Pastor and author John Ortberg will address a combined session of the two conferences on April 29. Ortberg is the teaching pastor at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, California. His books include If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat; The Life You've Always Wanted, and Love Beyond Reason. Pastor Earl Palmer will address a combined session on April 30. Palmer is the senior pastor of University Presbyterian Church in Seattle as well as an author.

Thriving Churches will feature 13 diverse and specialized tracks with more than 60 seminars from which to choose. Pastors, staff, business people and volunteers who are implementing "best practices" around the region and the nation have been gathered to share their most effective ideas with attendees.

Worship leaders Lincoln Brewster and Paul Baloche will participate, as will classical guitarist Brandon Yip. Comedian Bob Stromberg will perform and serve as master of ceremonies.
