Minneapolis Churches Plan Multi-Ethnic Worship

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (February 10, 2005) - Efrem Smith, pastor of The Sanctuary Covenant Church, will join with pastors of two other area churches to speak at "One Kingdom," a gathering of three partnering churches in a multi-ethnic worship celebration." The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. February 20 at Northrup Auditorium on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus.

In a distinctive union, The Sanctuary Covenant Church, Woodland Hills and Church of the Open Door have joined together to "do life together" moving into the future. "One Kingdom" will feature the worship bands from the three individual churches. Each worship band will play a portion of the shared worship experience in their own artistic style, then will come together for a final joint worship presentation.

The evening program will culminate with the three senior speakers from these churches coming together to share a word of faith, community and partnership – "celebrating the past, acknowledging the present union and decidedly moving as a stronger union into the future."

A free-will offering will be taken and proceeds beyond the cost of the event will benefit The Sanctuary Community Development Corporation, a non-profit North Minneapolis para-church outreach of The Sanctuary Covenant Church.
