Applications Sought for Brandel Library Director
CHICAGO, IL (February 9, 2005) - Applications are being accepted for the position of director of the Brandel Library at North Park University, a full-time tenure-track position.Responsibilities include supervising library faculty and staff; planning and monitoring budgets for media services, archives, special collections and the seminary and university library; implementing mission and policies; and supervising use of the library building. This position oversees print, electronic and media collections and access, as well as the information literacy program and student learning outcomes. Engagement in research, scholarship and leadership in library and faculty committees is required.
Requirements include a master's degree from an ALA-accredited program and a second subject master's degree. The successful candidate will have proven analytical and critical thinking abilities, demonstrated initiative and innovation in designing programs to address current issues, and participation in professional organizations and consortia.
