DECATUR, IL (January 25) - Despite 16 points by Lamar Townsend, the
North Park University (NPU) men's basketball team lost 81-73 at Millikin
University Sunday in a game that was rescheduled due to bad weather a
day earlier.
Townsend hit 5 of 9 field goal tries for the Vikings, now 4-11, 0-4 in
College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play. Coach Paul
Brenegan's team plays a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday conference game at Carthage
College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Other bright spots for NPU included the 14 points by Brett Mathisen and
reserve Mike Peterson and the nine rebounds by Mike Haehn. Millikin, 9-6
overall, 1-3 in the CCIW, was led by Chuck Williams, who tallied 19
points by Chuck Williams.
