Today Show Postpones Crash Survivor Interview

REDMOND, WA (January 20, 2005) - A last-minute scheduling change on the part of NBC's Today Show has delayed a planned interview with Laura Hatch, the Covenant teenager who made headlines around the world last October when she was found alive eight days after her car crashed down a ravine.

A news story published earlier today in this Covenant news report stated that Laura would appear this Friday; however, the interview now has been tentatively scheduled for next week, Covenant News Service has learned.

Laura Hatch and Sister Amy Katie Couric will interview Hatch, who attends Creekside Covenant Church in Redmond. Hatch's ordeal was covered in this online Covenant news report and a more detailed account of her story appeared in the January issue of the Covenant Companion.

A friend of the Hatch family, Sha Nohr, is the one who found Hatch after receiving what she said was a God-given vision that directed her to where she would find the teenager. Hatch continues to recover from her injuries, which included a crushed eye socket, cheekbone and nose.

To read more of Hatch's ordeal, see The Laura Hatch Story. The accompanying photo shows Laura (right) and her twin sister, Karen.
