CWR Director Shares Insights on Disaster Response
CHICAGO, IL (January 18, 2005) - The outpouring of support by Covenanters on behalf of victims of the tsunami disaster in Asia has been an inspiration to all in the Evangelical Covenant Church family who have worked closely with this unfolding tragedy that has claimed in excess of 160,000 lives by most estimates.More than $265,000 in donations to the Covenant Tsunami Relief Fund had been recorded by the end of last week, reports Dean Lundgren, Covenant treasurer, which includes more than $12,000 donated through the special Internet online giving link displayed on the Covenant website home page. To donate online using a major credit card, visit the Covenant website at www.covchurch.org.
In an effort to help Covenanters better appreciate the work of Covenant World Relief (CWR) in response to the tsunami and other disasters throughout the world, CWR Director Jim Sundholm responded to questions during a video interview conducted at Covenant offices several days ago.
