Noted Doctor to Make 'House Visit'

RED WING, MN (January 14, 2005) - It's not everyday that physicians make house calls let alone church visits, but noted author Dr. Richard Swenson will do just that when he brings his prescription for curing the overload in the lives of members at First Covenant Church in Red Wing.

Swenson will speak several times January 22 and 23 on the topic of healthy families. He will present two workshops beginning at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, with a free meal provided between the sessions. Swenson also will lead a Sunday school class and preach during the worship service.

Pastor Timothy Anderson says the youth group hand-delivered flyers throughout the neighborhood to promote the event.

Swenson penned the popular book Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives. Swenson has described overload as the disease of the new millennium. Margin, he writes, is the space between ourselves and our limits and is reserved for the unexpected.
