Bike Horns: Same Tune, New 'Jingle'

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 1) - An associate pastor at First Covenant Church, David Enns, has received national attention for a unique rendition of "Jingle Bells" he performs for the church's annual Christmas outreach event known as "Evening in December."

Enns has acquired a number of ordinary bicycle horns and has tuned them to different pitches. He pastes them to himself with thin elastic bands and plays the song while dancing on stage at the Memorial Auditorium during "Evening in December" performances. His talents were noticed - he was on a December 20 "Jay Leno" television show and has performed at a number of other events around town.

As for "Evening in December," the event drew 16,000 people for seven performances this Advent season, said pastor Ted Smith. To read about last year's event in a news story published in this online Covenant news report, please see Evening in December. Information also is available by calling Smith at 916-861-2240 or emailing Enns at denns@firstcov.org. Enns' website - www.davethehornguy.com - has pictures and videos from the recent Jay Leno spot.
