Bi-Partisan Parking NOT Allowed

CHICAGO, IL (November 2, 2004) - Today is election day throughout the United States – that in itself could be considered a relief by some who are wearied by months of political haranguing.

Bi-Partisan Parking Allowed However, it is refreshing to see signs of humor - literally – including this one spotted in a second-floor window of Burgh Hall on the campus of North Park University.

The larger sign on the right with the familiar elephant image supporting the Republican presidential ticket reads: "Republican Parking Only." To the left of that sign – just inches away - is another smaller, more modest one that reads: "Not a Republican? Feel free to park here!"

Warning: any drivers taking those messages to heart will find a most unwelcome response from the Chicago Police Department – they won't get the humor as no parking is allowed in that area!
