CONROE, TX (October 12, 2004) - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Metcalf Funeral Home for ordained Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Rodney Liverett, who died Saturday following a sudden heart attack.

Visitation for the 46-year-old pastor will be observed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., according to a funeral home spokesperson.

Liverett most recently served in ministry at the United Methodist Church in Hammond, Wisconsin, finishing his ministry there in September 2003, according to the Covenant's Department of the Ordered Ministry. His most recent Covenant pastorate was at Bethel Mission Covenant Church in Wallace, Michigan, from August 1998 to June 2001.

Born September 4, 1958, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Liverett earned his undergraduate degree in 1981 from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating in 1986 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, Liverett was the pastor of the Greenwood Covenant Church in Summerdale, Alabama, from July 1989 to August 1993.

Before heading to Alabama, he attended North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago for an orientation year in 1987-88 and interned at Cuyler Covenant Church in Chicago in 1988-89. He had earlier taken courses at Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas as part of his education. He was ordained by the Covenant in 1991.
