List of Storm Damage Being Assembled

OVIEDO, FL (September 22, 2004) - A more comprehensive list of damages to Evangelical Covenant Churches affected by recent hurricanes in Florida is being assembled and should be available soon, says Southeast Conference Supt. Kurt Miericke.

Three major storms – Charley, Frances and Ivan – have battered Florida residents and damaged property in recent weeks. Encouraging was the sparing of Alabama churches as Ivan came ashore a week ago – "I have learned that all three of our churches in south Alabama are sound with only minor damage," Miericke reports.

"This damage is now being assessed," Miericke continued. "All our pastors are fine and from what I know now, all of our church members are well. Bob Simmons in Foley has power because he lives near a hospital and those power grids get priority. He said that there is much damage in the area and at the coast many buildings are destroyed. We thank God for His grace and seek His wisdom and power in ministering to the people in Baldwin County, Alabama."

Updated information will be posted to this online Covenant news report as it becomes available.
