Mission Trip to Russia Scheduled for January
CHICAGO, IL (August 24, 2004) - Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ... (Colossians 4:2-3, NIV).Covenant World Mission is offering a mission trip to St. Petersburg, Russia, from January 13-21, 2005 for the purpose of preparing the way for future possibilities in the Covenant's mission to Russia.
Spaces are limited to 10 people and the trip will include ministry to an estate geared to help troubled youth, said Covenant world mission representatives. The trip will cost $2,500.
Coordinators of the trip will be missionaries Richard and Jan Epps-Dawson (regional coordinators for Europe and Russia), Keith Tungseth (facilitator for Russia Ministries) and Leonid Regheta (now attending North Park Theological Seminary). In January 2004, Regheta and Tungseth visited several Russian leaders and ministries in St. Petersburg and decided a mission experience was feasible and valuable to communicating the needs in Russia to the Covenant.
"We will pray for God's church in Russia and for God's leading and blessing on the ministry niche that the Covenant might have in God's purpose," said Richard Epps-Dawson. "We are trusting that God will open doors to send project missionaries to Russia in 2005."
