Harbor, Enabling Residences Offer Camping Experience

LAKE GENEVA, WI (August 5, 2004) - Seventy-five clients and staff from three Covenant Enabling Residences will join this weekend in a unique camping experience at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp.

The camp begins Sunday and concludes Wednesday and will offer programming tailored to meet the needs and interests of the clients, who will come from Bjorklund House in Oak Forest, Illinois; Our Place in Duluth, Minnesota; and Mary's House and Joseph's House in Muskegon, Michigan. "They will come to Geneva Bay Centre to experience a fun-filled camp including swimming, boat rides, ropes course, worship, campfires and many of the other opportunities campers and guests enjoy at camp," says Eric Anderson, director of marketing for the retreat center.

This year marks the second year of the partnership between the camp and Bjorklund House, but is the first year of collaboration involving all of the Covenant Enabling Residences that are under the umbrella of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence. Each residence provides homes for adults with developmental disabilities.

Individuals who may be interested in volunteering time to help with this special needs camp or desire further information should call 800-284-1330. Covenant Harbor offers volunteers free lodging and meals at Geneva Bay Centre for the duration of the camp.
