Wisconsin Church to Dedicate Building Addition

ELLSWORTH, WI (July 12, 2004) - Zion Covenant Church will host a dedication, ice cream social, and open house on August 22 to celebrate the completion of a 6,000 square-foot addition to its existing building.

The addition includes a multipurpose activity center for youth, along with a fellowship hall, said David Eaton, now in his eleventh year as pastor of the church. The project has been keyed by a strong volunteer effort from the 125 member congregation, which ministers in a community of 3,000, located 45 miles southeast of the Twin Cities.

Founded in 1890, Zion Covenant Church has been worshiping in its current building since 1960. The congregation has had a successful children's ministry with an active Awana program for more than a decade.

Eaton added that work is nearly completed although the building addition has been used in some capacity since January. The congregation put in a unique carpet floor for its multipurpose facility that allows for high use in youth ministries.
