Injured Family Members in Stable Condition

Kristi Ivanoff, an instructor and counselor at Alaska Christian College (ACC), and her two children were airlifted to Anchorage where they were hospitalized, according to ACC President Keith Hamilton. Kristi's husband, Curtis, who has been heavily involved at ACC and with Covenant Youth of Alaska (CYAK) in recent years, was on a fishing trip and was transported to the hospital via missionary plane to be with his family. The driver of the other car involved in the accident was not injured.

"Twenty-four hours later, what was critical, serious, and very threatening has become a miracle of healing," said Hamilton on Sunday night. "Nathan, the two-year-old, has only a broken femur, which was re-set today (Monday) and is fine. Charis, the five-year-old daughter, suffered a minor skull fracture and is doing very well, although sedated. She will be fine. Kristi was the most serious and while the prognosis was unknown for some time, she is tonight in her own room at the hospital with a head injury, and besides moments of short-term loss of memory, is able to laugh and communicate well with family who have all flown in today." Hamilton said Kristi may be able to return home in three to seven days – "a real miracle of God's praying people."

The ACC staff has requested asks prayer for the three Ivanoffs, both for their return to full health and for better detail on how the accident occurred. "They also ask for discernment as the school prepares for upcoming summer building repair activities and fall classes," Hamilton added.
