Celebration Draws 2,000 to California Church
DAVIS, CA (May 28, 2004) - University Covenant Church hosted a community event with 2,000 in attendance on May 16. The event was part of a celebration of the church's new 35,000-square-foot facility.
Pacific Southwest Covenant Church superintendent Evelyn Johnson and
David Johnson of National Covenant Properties were guests at the
celebration. The event included a BBQ meal and a video presentation
about the church, among other things.
Davis Mayor pro tem Sue Greenwald and University Covenant pastor Jamie Crook were part of a ribbon cutting ceremony, along with a handful of charter members of the church when it was founded in January 1966.
University Covenant Church is located in Northern California near Sacramento. The church of 800 has been using the facility since February. More than 1,110 people attended the opening service on February 22.
