Expanded Annual Meeting Content Now Available

CHICAGO, IL (May 24, 2004) - With the 119th Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) fast approaching, additional information concerning this year's agenda and key issues has been added to the Annual Meeting segment of the website as a convenience to delegates and others.

The expanded package includes 27 items ranging from written reports of administrators and financial data to proposed amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws. The information may be found by visiting the Covenant website at www.covchurch.org and opening the Annual Meeting link under the "Events" section of the home page. Additional information will be added over the coming weeks as it becomes available.

The package includes action on the standing rules, listings of churches to be removed from the official roster and those applying for membership and recommendations to extend two commissions. It also includes a recommendation on human sexuality referred for study last year, various proposed amendments relating to notification, World Mission delegates, changes in certain salary approval requirements and not-for-profit compliance issues, as well as a proposed affiliation between ECC and Covenant Bible College.

Staff from the Department of Communication will be on hand at this year's June 20-23 meeting to provide daily news stories, photographs and video broadcasting of evening worship services, among other things. A special link will be in place on the home page of the Covenant website to host all of the news coverage as well as explain the process for signing on to view and/or listen to the live web-based broadcasts.
