Radio Host to Speak Sunday at Oakdale Covenant
CHICAGO, IL (March 31, 2004) - Dr. Crawford Loritts, Jr. will be the special guest speaker for Palm Sunday services this weekend at Oakdale Covenant Church, sharing at both the 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services.Loritts is associate director of U.S. Ministries for Campus Crusade for Christ, a worldwide ministry with more than 20,000 full-time staff members and 600,000 associate staff and volunteers. He also has served with American Missionary Fellowship, was a church planter with the Black Evangelistic Enterprise and helped co-found Oakcliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas.
Serving in numerous capacities with Campus Crusade for Christ, he founded Legacy, a ministry dedicated to rebuilding and restoring urban families. Loritts also served as co-chair of the 1997 National Congress on the Urban Family.
He has authored numerous articles, contributed to books and has written four books: A Passionate Commitment . . . Recapturing Your Sense of Purpose, Never Walk Away, Make It Home Before Dark and Lessons From A Life Coach. Loritts is host of the daily radio program "Living a Legacy" and can be heard regularly on the Moody Broadcast Network.
He is the recipient of a Doctor of Divinity degree from Biola University, a Doctor of Sacred Theology degree from Philadelphia Biblical University and a Doctor of Letters degree from Trinity International University.
He and his wife, Karen, have four children and make their home in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Senior pastor D. Darrell Griffin, who has served Oakdale since 2000, leads Oakdale Covenant Church, located at 9440 S. Vincennes Avenue in Chicago. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School and Morehouse College, Griffin served as pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, and for several years as assistant pastor of Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, New York.
