Copies of 'Elections Matter' Pamphlet Available
CHICAGO, IL (March 30, 2004) - A limited number of copies of a pamphlet titled Elections Matter: Vote to End Hunger are available through the Covenant Resource Center.
The pamphlet, which was originally distributed to local churches by
Covenant World Relief (CWR) of the Evangelical Covenant Church, was
published by Bread for the World Institute. "The Covenant World Relief
Commission believes we need to elect officials who understand the causes
of hunger and poverty and will work toward their resolution," reads a
letter to pastors from Jim Sundholm, CWR director.
The pamphlet provides some tools to help congregations fully engage in the election process, "not the least of which is encouraging persons to vote," Sundholm says. "The concerns of global and domestic hungry and vulnerable people need to be front and center before political candidates in 2004."
