Satire and Wit Promise Fun Evening at North Park

CHICAGO, IL (March 18, 2004) - North Park Theatre presents five performances of the comedy "We Won't Pay, We Won't Pay" next month at North Park University (NPU).

Show times will be at 8 p.m. on April 16, 17, 21, 23 and 24 in the university's Lecture Hall Auditorium. The play is written by 1997 Nobel Prize winner for literature Dario Fo and directed by the artistic director of Chicago's Stage Left Theatre, Jessi D. Hill.

"We Won't Pay, We Won't Pay" follows the farcical flight of two housewives rebelling against corporate greed and their two husbands, who are just trying to make an honest buck. In the tradition of grand Italian farce, the play serves mistaken identity, slamming doors and witty banter with a grain of satirical salt.

Featured performers include: Kate McCandless, Chaz Evans, Ian McEwen, Sterling Haukom, John Potter, Austin Person and Jodi Wagner. Tom Burch will provide set design, Ben Wilhelm is producing light design, Michelle Tesdall is organizing costume design and Megan Sizemore is providing stage management.

Tickets for the performances cost from $5 to $8 at the door. To order tickets by phone, call 773-244-5640.
