Galter LifeCenter Host Covenant Family Night March 28
CHICAGO, IL (February 26, 2004) - Galter LifeCenter will host a Covenant
Church Family Night from 7 to 9 p.m. on March 28 as a way to introduce
Covenanters to the newly refurbished facility and its amenities.
Donald Timm, president of the Galter LifeCenter, will give a
presentation on the biblical basis of health and wellness. Fitness staff
members will show visitors the proper methods for using various pieces
of equipment and there will be a variety of 20-minute demonstration
classes for participants to sample. Snacks will be available throughout
the evening.
The event is free, although participants are encouraged to donate $2 to
the North Park Friendship Center, an outreach ministry of North Park
Covenant Church.
Galter LifeCenter, 5157 N. Francisco Avenue in Chicago, is a
not-for-profit community fitness and wellness center affiliated with
Swedish Covenant Hospital and the Evangelical Covenant Church. The
LifeCenter, which opened in September 1991, is located on the Northwest
side of Chicago and is the only hospital based fitness center in the
city. It is a member of the Medical Fitness Association.
The 69,000 square foot, two-story Life Center facility includes a
25-yard swimming and class pool; 12-lap track; three group exercise
studios; a stretching area; sauna, steam rooms and whirlpools, arthritis
therapy pools (with lift) and a wide variety of free weights and
cardiovascular and strength equipment.
