Faith Covenant (FL) Breaks Ground for Expansion Project
ST PETERSBURG, FL (January 30, 2004) - Faith Covenant Church celebrated groundbreaking ceremonies for its building project last Sunday in between worship services, said pastor Jeff Burton.
The current facility is 18,000 square feet and the church will
rehabilitate that area. Also to be constructed is a 2,200-square-foot
nursery wing on the north side of the existing building as part of phase
one of a two-phase plan. The church received its building permits
January 20. Faith Covenant hopes to complete all construction no later
than June 1.
So far, the congregation of approximately 340 people has raised more than $900,000 in pledges to help pay off construction loans. Phase two will include a sanctuary that seats 630, a gathering area and additional parking.
Faith Covenant Church recently celebrated 25 years of ministry. In February, the congregation will offer its fifth Alpha class and a month later the church will host a ministry team from Covenant Bible College-Ecuador. In June, the youth ministries program at the church is sending a team of 40 people to Puerto Rico to serve with a parachurch ministry and local churches.
