Cardinal Francis George to Speak at Winnetka Covenant
WILMETTE, IL (November 20, 2003) - Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of
Chicago's Roman Catholic Church, will speak at an 8 p.m. November 26
Thanksgiving Eve worship service at Winnetka Covenant Church.
The event is sponsored by the Winnetka Interfaith Council and involves
12 congregations, including Winnetka Covenant. The Council was founded
in 1967 and has helped organize community services commemorating the
Holocaust and Martin Luther King, among other things.
Past speakers at the Thanksgiving Eve service include the former
archbishop of Chicago, the late Cardinal Joseph Bernadin; Dr. Arthur
A.R. Nelson, longtime Evangelical Covenant Church pastor and former
president of North Park University; and Dr. Carol Noren, professor of
Homiletics at North Park Theological Seminary.
