North Park Homecoming Game Set for October 25

CHICAGO, IL (October 17, 2003) - Due to the delay of the completion of the new Holmgren Athletic Complex, North Park University (NPU) will play its 2 p.m. October 25 Homecoming football game at Langhorst Field on the campus of Elmhurst College.

North Park will have a bus available for fans wishing to ride to Elmhurst College. The bus will leave from Foster Avenue in front of the Old Main Building at 12:30 p.m. A tailgate party that was originally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on the campus has been cancelled, said a school representative.

Other Homecoming events on October 25, including a 9:30 a.m. reunion brunch, 10 a.m. class photos, men's and women's soccer games at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively, and a 7 p.m. Homecoming Gala at Viking Hall will be held as scheduled at North Park.

Homecoming events at North Park begin next Friday (October 24) with an 11:30 a.m. "Greenspace Dedication" in the middle of the campus. A student-athlete tailgate party at 5 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. School of Music Faculty Showcase are other highlights. The Homecoming Coronation at 9 p.m. will culminate activities that day.

Dr. Arthur Nelson, a longtime Covenant pastor and a former president at North Park, will be the guest speaker at a 10 a.m. October 26 Homecoming Chapel in Anderson Chapel.
