Rockford-Chicago Bands Plan Concert at Carol Stream

CAROL STREAM, IL (August 11, 2003) - The Christian Fellowship Band of Rockford will be joined by the Christian Fellowship Band of Chicago for a 6:30 p.m. concert on September 7 at the Windsor Park Manor Covenant Retirement Center, 124 Windsor Park, Carol Stream, Illinois.

The Christian Fellowship Band of Rockford is a 35-piece concert band organized in 1985 by Fred M. Hubbell. The band is now conducted by Covenanter George E. Strombeck, a noted composer, arranger, instrumentalist and director in the area. Many of those in the Rockford contingent are from First Covenant Church in Rockford or have connections with other Covenant churches in that area.

Each of the two bands includes dedicated Christian musicians (high school through retired) who perform at community events, churches and retirement centers. They are noted for their rousing marches, inspirational instrumental hymns, classic concert overtures and music appropriate for the occasion and season.

For more information about the September 7 concert or for more on the Rockford band, its members and its upcoming performances, call band member Karl Burdick at 815-399-3694. The Rockford band's website can be found at http://pages.prodigy.net/cfb1732.
