The church opened its weekend celebration with an open house on Thursday June 29. A special noon luncheon followed on Friday, with participation from previous pastors, spouses, pastors' widows; local clergy; town officials and church leaders. Later that day, the church's music and worship department presented an anniversary program entitled, "Through the Decades."

According to anniversary committee chair Arnie Bolin, a church member who previously served as interim pastor at the church, former pastors attending the anniversary included Robert Anderson (who led the church for 30 years), Wilbur Solie and Wilfred Hansen, the congregation's first full-time pastor (from 1947-51).

On Saturday, the Community Church youth group hosted a spaghetti supper, and opera singer Katherine Kulas, a daughter of the church, performed at a special anniversary concert. A luncheon on Sunday concluded the weekend's festivities.

Community Church of Boulder Junction began its ministry with Sunday school programs that started in 1921. The church became incorporated in 1941 and dedicated its first building in 1942. The church, while not a member of the national denomination, is an associate member of the Central Conference and has had close ties to the Covenant church since its founding.

Covenant minister Tim Hawkinson has served the church for 10 years as senior pastor. The church has an average worship attendance of 134, according to the Covenant Yearbook.
