The 85-year-old Yarrington had been a longtime pastor at the Evangelical
Covenant Church of New Haven, having served there since 1970. He was a busy
man during that period. He was a chaplain at the nearby New Haven Community
Correctional Center. He also served as director of chaplain services at the
Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown for 20 years, according to
information provided by the Evangelical Covenant Church's Department of the
Ordered Ministry.
Yarrington had begun ministry at Bible Fellowship Church, a Mennonite
congregation, in the 1950s. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, whom he
married in 2001; a son, Harold Jr., a daughter, Betty Svirsko, and their
families.
Memorial Service Held for Harold Yarrington
NEW HAVEN, CT (June 3, 2003) - Memorial services were held last Wednesday (May
28) at the Evangelical Covenant Church of New Haven for Harold Yarrington,
a licensed retired Covenant pastor who died on May 21.
