Faith-Based Organization Workshop Set for April 4

CHICAGO, IL (March 7, 2003) - The Center for Justice Ministries at North Park University (NPU) will sponsor a workshop on faith-based community organizations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 4. All are welcome.

David Osterndorf and Pamela Perry, community organizers at The Center for New Community in Oak Park, will lead the workshop. It will center on a methodology for intentional relationship building in a local faith community and neighborhood with a view to addressing common concerns of betterment of the community. It will include tips on how to identify what people are concerned about, what they care about, what they are willing to get involved in and how to go about researching the possibilities and strategies for change consistent with faith and a communal democratic and dialogical process.

There is a $10 registration fee to be collected at time of class attendance. Need-based scholarships are available. To register or to obtain more information, call Jeanine Brown at 773-244-6220 or email her at jbrown@northpark.edu.
