Positions Available at Covenant Offices
CHICAGO, IL (February 17, 2003) - Applications are being accepted for two positions at offices of the Evangelical Covenant Church.Receptionist
This part-time position directs incoming calls to appropriate personnel, welcomes guests and assists staff as needed.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree, one to three months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities also include retrieving and forwarding messages from voice mail and forwarding to appropriate personnel, answering questions about the Evangelical Covenant Church and its institutions, maintaining fax machines and registering/routing outgoing and incoming packages.
The position requires excellent customer service skills, knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and word processing and other office skills. The individual must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English. The ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently are essential.

Covenant Mission Connection Assistant
This part-time position in the Department of World Mission offices is responsible for scheduling appointments, giving information to callers and assisting the short-term missionary and Covenant Mission Connection manager with clerical, administrative and business functions.
The successful candidate will have an Associate's Degree or equivalent and six months to one year of related experience.
Responsibilities include routing incoming mail, handling correspondence-related files, taking and transcribing notes, composing and typing routine correspondence, organizing and maintaining files, greeting visitors, arranging and coordinating travel schedules, conducting research, coordinating meetings, updating Covenant Mission Connection information such as manuals and brochures, helping produce two Catalyst publications per year and recording Merge Ministry funds.
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills in English and will demonstrate a high level of professionalism. The ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and set goals and objectives are essential. An individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, various database software, email and Internet systems.
