Memorial Service Friday for Margaret Taylor

BUFFALO, MN (February 13, 2003) - A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) for Margaret Taylor, wife of Covenant pastor Carl Taylor, who died Monday night at North Memorial Medical Center in nearby Robbinsdale.

The service will be held at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Buffalo. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Taylor, 69, had been fighting cancer for several years. Margaret and Carl had been at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Buffalo for 20 years where Margaret was heavily involved in Covenant Women Ministries at the church, according to a church staff member.

Born June 11, 1933, Taylor earned her undergraduate degree in literature from Pasadena College in Pasadena, California. She married Carl Taylor on June 19, 1959, and served as a teacher while she and her husband raised two children and shared in more than four decades of ministry in Covenant churches.

Survivors include a daughter, Jill Whitson, and son-in-law, Ray, a youth pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Batavia, Illinois, and a son, Eric, and wife, Kori, of Beaverton, Oregon. Margaret is also survived by three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Covenant World Relief, 5101 N. Francisco Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60625, or to the Buffalo church at P.O. Box 268, Buffalo, MN, 55313.
