Seminary Seeking Candidates for Worship, Theology Position
CHICAGO, IL (January 22, 2003) - Candidates are being sought for a full-time position in worship and theology that will be available beginning with the fall term.This position involves teaching in the areas of worship and theology in the seminary's Master of Divinity and Master of Arts programs, as well as teaching in the Evangelical Covenant Church's external orientation program. Teaching competence in liturgy, ecclesiology and sacraments is assumed. Desired is the assumption of responsibility for the seminary's community worship life, teaching in the spiritual formation program and developing expertise in theological distinctives of the Evangelical Covenant Church
The successful candidate will help develop and team-teach interdisciplinary courses and become involved in North Park's distance learning program, SemConnect. The position includes teaching core courses in the seminary's masters-level programs including church, liturgy and sacraments, theological foundations as well as elective courses.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D., ordination in the Evangelical Covenant Church and pastoral experience. Qualifications include an interest in and the ability to work with a strong program of ministerial formation, the ability to integrate academic and spiritual formation of candidates for a broad range of ministries, the ability to engage in research and writing in a collegial setting and compatibility with the ethos of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
