Memorial Service Tuesday for William L. Peterson Jr.
ST. PAUL, MN (January 11, 2003) - A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening for William L. Peterson, Jr., former pastor of First Covenant Church, who died Friday evening at his home.The service will be at 7 p.m. at First Covenant in St. Paul.
Peterson was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He attended North Park Junior College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Northern Illinois University. He graduated from North Park Theological Seminary and Bethany Theological Seminary. He also studied at Yale Divinity School and Princeton Theological Seminary.
He was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1956. He served pastorates at First Covenant in Seattle, Washington; Lily Lake Covenant in Elgin, Illinois; Evangelical Covenant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Bethany Covenant in New Britain, Connecticut; and Northwest Covenant in Mount Prospect, Illinois, before serving at First Covenant in St. Paul until 1995.
