Olathe (KS) Celebrates 25 Years of Ministry

OLATHE, KS (December 11, 2002) - Glenn R. Palmberg, president of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), and his wife Sharon were among the guests of Olathe Evangelical Covenant Church as it celebrated its 25th anniversary December 7-8.

Virginia Larson, widow of the church's founding pastor, Quentin (Dusty) Larson, also attended the celebration, which included a dinner at a local American Legion hall Saturday and a special morning worship service Sunday.

Founded in 1977, Olathe Evangelical Covenant Church met in local grade schools during its early years. In 1984, the church began a building project that produced a multipurpose sanctuary/gym. By then, Palmberg was the senior pastor of the congregation. After Palmberg left to become North Pacific Conference superintendent, David Lindfors became senior pastor. Under current pastor Chris Icenogle, the church has an average worship attendance of 110 in a suburb of Kansas City.

For more information about the church, call Icenogle at 913-782-9594 or email him at oecc@sbcglobal.net.
