Vikings to Host Carthage College on Saturday

CHICAGO, IL (November 11, 2002) - Dante Britten returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown and backup quarterback Brett Cooper hit Chris Wada with a 67-yard scoring pass for the lone North Park University points in a 68-12 loss to visiting Wheaton College Saturday at Hedstrand Field.

NPU fell to 1-8 overall, 0-6 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Vikings host Carthage College at 1 p.m. Saturday in the final game for both teams. Wheaton is 8-1, 6-0, with a match up against Augustana College for the CCIW title Saturday at 1 p.m. in Wheaton.

Meanwhile, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the NPU volleyball finished eighth overall at the CCIW volleyball tourney, finishing the season 11-27. The Vikings lost in three games to North Central College in their final match on Saturday, having lost to eventual CCIW champ Elmhurst College and Wheaton College in matches played at Carthage College on Friday.

Individually, two Vikings were among the statistical leaders in CCIW matches this fall. Freshman middle blocker Rosamond Fields finished third in blocks with 1.08 per game and defensive specialist Amanda Klufetos averaged 5.06 digs per game to place second in that category.
