Spartans Football Team to Join Worship at Fremont (CA)
FREMONT, CA (October 20, 2002) - A special visit by the Spartans football team of
San Jose State College will be one of the highlights marking the 17th
anniversary celebration at South Bay Community Church next Sunday.
"The entire team will be part of our worship service," said senior pastor
Stan Long, who is participating in this weekend's Executive Board meeting
of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Chicago.
One of the congregation's young people is attending San Jose State College
on scholarship and is a member of the Spartans team. The team will be
joining others in the congregation at the 10 a.m. worship service.
