MT. PROSPECT, IL (October 15, 2002) - Craig Anderson of Northwest Covenant Church recently made a verbal commitment to play basketball for Youngstown State University, a Division I school in Youngstown, Ohio.

Anderson, a 6-foot-6 senior guard/forward at Prospect High School in Chicago's suburbs, averaged 21 points per game for his team and earned All-Conference and All-Area recognition. Anderson scored 49 points in one game and helped the Knights earn their first regional championship since 1991. As a sophomore, Anderson averaged 10 points per game for Prospect.

Under NCAA rules, Anderson cannot officially sign a letter of intent to commit to Youngstown State until the NCAA's early recruit signing period next month. John Robic is the head coach of the Penguins, who compete in the Horizon League.
