Record Enrollment for North Park Seminary
CHICAGO, IL (September 16, 2002) - For the second consecutive year, North Park Theological Seminary (NPTS) will have a record number of students for the fall term, according to the admissions department.Total enrollment for the fall class of 2002-03 is 69 new students - last year the school had 64 entering students. The Presidential Scholarship Committee reported that 40 qualified individuals applied for 20 scholarships. It is possible that more scholarships may be available in the spring term, said Michele Stanley, seminary development coordinator.
The generosity of seminary friends, alums and churches met the financial challenge of the past fiscal year (ending June 30th). The amount given toward the Annual Fund and the Presidential Scholarship Initiative totaled $794,164.01 - an increase of $146,961.91 over last year. The Challenge grant (a three-year matching grant initiative) of $120,000 was matched with new money received by those increasing their giving and from new donors. This year's matching goal for the Challenge Grant is $100,000.
The seminary currently is developing promotional materials to send to Covenant churches throughout North America. For more information about NPTS or to request NPTS representatives to come to your church, email Stanley at mstanley@northpark.edu or call her at 773-244-5787.
